All grade levels will be working on a music notation activity:
1. First, students will complete the rhythm notation worksheets:
2. When they have completed and turned in these worksheets, they can then work on the Write Your Own Melody activity. They may take this sheet home with them.
Copies of these worksheets can be found labeled in (or next to) the orange Sub Folder in the music closet.
If students finish early, they can play a game:
Students have played these games before so they should already know how to play and what the expectations are.

- K-2 will use this worksheet to practice drawing music notes. Please collect when they finish.
- 3-6 will use this worksheet to practice drawing music notes. Please collect when they finish.
2. When they have completed and turned in these worksheets, they can then work on the Write Your Own Melody activity. They may take this sheet home with them.

- Students can work alone or in small groups.
- They can use crayons, markers, or pencils.
- You can let students know that when they see me next week, I will play the music that they write...so be creative!
If students finish early, they can play a game:
- K-2 can play Pass the Pumpkin
- 3-6 can play Pass Around the Broomstick
Students have played these games before so they should already know how to play and what the expectations are.
- You can find a pumpkin in one of the music drawers to the left of the sink.
- You can use a drumstick in the music cabinet as a "broomstick."
